Sereni is designed with privacy by design principles:

• All features work 100% offline
• No servers, no databases, no cloud storage
• No analytics services, no third-party trackers
• No accounts, no logins, no authentication

Data Storage

Everything Stays on Your Device

All data generated by your use of Sereni is stored exclusively on your device using secure local storage:

What's Stored Locally:

• ✅ Your breathing session history
• ✅ Your preferences and settings
• ✅ User profiles you create
• ✅ Unlock progression and stats
• ✅ Notification preferences

Where It's Stored:

• On Android: Encrypted Capacitor Preferences (backed by Android SharedPreferences)
• Fallback: Local browser storage (for web preview mode only)

Who Has Access:

• Only you, on your device
• We cannot access this data
• Third parties cannot access this data
• Data is not synchronized or backed up to external servers

Permissions

Notifications (Optional)

• Purpose: To send breathing practice reminders at times you specify
• How It Works: Notifications are generated locally on your device; no data is sent to external servers
• Control: You can disable this permission at any time through the App settings or device system settings

Haptic Feedback (Optional)

• Purpose: To provide gentle vibration feedback during breathing phase transitions
• How It Works: Uses device hardware for tactile feedback; no data is collected or transmitted

Storage

• Purpose: To save your session history, preferences, and profiles locally on your device
• How It Works: All data stays on your device; no external storage or cloud services are used

Third-Party Services

No Analytics or Tracking

Sereni does not use:

• Google Analytics
• Firebase Analytics
• Facebook SDK
• Any other analytics or tracking services

Background Images

All visual theme backgrounds are bundled locally within the app. No external image services are used, and no data is transmitted when changing themes.

Your Rights

You Have Complete Control Over Your Data

• Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and accessible through the App
• Deletion: Delete all data by uninstalling the App or using "Reset" functions in App settings
• Portability: Data is stored in standard formats (JSON) on your device
• No Third-Party Sharing: Since we don't collect data, there's nothing for us to share

Data Security

• Encrypted Storage: Data is stored using Capacitor Preferences with Android's secure storage
• No Network Transmission: No data leaves your device, eliminating interception risks
• No Cloud Vulnerabilities: No servers means no server breaches
• Regular Updates: We update the App to patch security vulnerabilities
